¿Qué significa que mi película haya sido preseleccionada?

Que nos hemos puesto en contacto a vía email y lo hemos notificado de que su película es invitada a participar del proceso de preselección. Esto se debe a que hemos encontrado en la propuesta estética/temática que desarrolla la película, un fuerte potencial para formar parte de la programación de la nueva edición. 

Entonces, para que la película pueda ser evaluada en este proceso de preselección, Ud. debe completar la ficha de inscripción y enviar la película de manera digital, o bien por un medio digital propio o bien por la plataforma Movibeta. 

Sólo una vez recibido ambos materiales, la película es considerará para su selección. 

En caso de quedar seleccionada la película dentro de la programación, entraremos nuevamente en contacto a fin de dar el anuncio y conversar posibles formatos de proyección.

I have received an invitation to the pre-selection process – what does that mean?

Receiving an e-mail, which says that your movie has been invited to participate in the pre-selection process, means that we see a strong potential for the film to be part of the programme of the 10th edition of the CineMigrante International Film Festival, which will take place in this year’s september. In order for the film to be evaluated in the pre-selection process, it is required to fill out the registration form and submit the movie online (that is, send us a link and password if needed or upload the movie via Movibeta). The movie can be considered only if both requirements are fulfilled.

In case of being selected for the final programme, we will contact you again to confirm and let you know the technical specifications required for the projection.

¿La invitación es a la película o se extiende al Director para que viaje a presentarla?

En caso de quedar seleccionada la película, el Festival hará lo posible para facilitar la estadía y los pasajes a los realizadores a través de las embajadas, que son nuestras principales aliadas, siendo el festival una acción de difusión de la cultura del país a través de las producciones audiovisuales.

If the movie is selected, will the director be invited to present it?

If the film is selected for the final programme, we will do our best to ensure that the filmmakers can present their movie personally to the audience in Buenos Aires. We do this in close cooperation with the embassies, which support this opportunity to dissiminate the country’s culture through audiovisual productions. 

¿Qué debo hacer si deseo aplicar con mi película?

El proceso es el siguiente: 

> Completar la ficha de inscripción en la siguiente dirección: http://www.cinemigrante.org/inscripcion/

> Enviar la película por los siguientes MEDIOS DIGITALES 

a. Por medios digitales. La película puede ser enviada a través de un link de visualización en línea (Vimeo, Youtube, etc.) con su contraseña correspondiente, o a través de un archivo descargable (Dropbox, We transfer, etc) en un archivo de no más de 6 gigabytes.

b. Por Movibeta. La película puede ser subida a la plataforma Movibeta Festivales: http://es.movibeta.com/

SÓLO EN CASO DE NO DISPONER DE UNA VERSIÓN DIGITAL, la película  puede  enviarse  por  CORREO POSTAL  como excepción.

What should I do if I want to submit my film?

We invite you to complete the following registration form: http://www.cinemigrante.org/inscripcion

Once you have filled out the form, you can select in which way you want to send the film:

1. Via digital platforms such as Youtube, Vimeo, etc. – please inform us of the password, if needed. You can also send a downloadable link (Dropbox, We Transfer, etc). In this case, the file should not exceed a size of 6 GB.
2. Via Movibeta, please upload the movie on the Movibeta Festival platform: http://en.movibeta.com/
3. *In exceptional cases, WHEN YOU DO NOT POSESS A DIGITAL VERSION OF THE FILM, it is possible to send a copy by post. For further details, please see the instructions in our regulations: http://www.cinemigrante.org/reglamento

 Can I participate if the movie does not have spanish subtitles?

If you do not have a version with spanish subtitles, we ask you to put us in contact with a spanish-language festival which has shown the movie, so we can obtain a copy of the subtitled film or the subtitles itself. If the movie has not been shown in such a festival, we ask you to provide us with a dialogue list (preferably in spanish – or, if spanish is not available, in english or french). Please note that the dialogue list needs to contain the corresponding time codes. The time codes are essential, without them the movie cannot be shown.

¿Puedo participar si la película no está subtitulada al español?

En caso de no tener copia subtitulada de la película, le solicitaremos nos ponga en contacto con algún otro Festival de habla hispana en el cual el material haya sido programado a fin de dar con esa copia o con sus subtítulos. En caso de no haber participado de algún festival de habla hispana, le solicitaremos el envío de una lista de diálogos, preferentemente en español, o en su defecto inglés o francés, con sus respectivos time codes. Esto último es condición, no importa el idioma de la lista, lo más importante es que contenga sus respectivos time codes.

¿Qué debo hacer una vez que la película queda seleccionada?

En caso de ser seleccionada la película se le pedirá a los concursantes el envío obligatorio de:

>UN ARCHIVO DE DESCARGA:

a. Archivo descargable .mp4  códec H.264

b. Resolución HD 1920 x1080

c. BitRate promedio entre 10mbps – 30mbps (es recomendable)

>LA LISTA DE DIÁLOGOS EN ESPAÑOL O EN SU DEFECTO EN INGLÉS O FRANCÉS CON TIME CODE

>TRAILERS Y MATERIAL GRÁFICO EN ALTA CALIDAD

Si la producción lo dispone, se puede enviar también dossier de prensa,  material gráfico, gacetillas, fotos y posters, a fin de aportar la mayor información posible a la prensa y despertar el interés del público en general respecto de cada producción.

What do I need to provide in case of my film being selected?

In case of being selected, we would need you to send the following material:

• A DOWNLOADABLE LINK:

1. In the .mp4 format, codec H.264
2. In HD quality (1920X1080)
3. Recommended bitrate between 10mbps -30mbps

• A DIALOGUE LIST IN SPANISH, OR IF NOT AVAILABLE, IN ENGLISH OR FRENCH (WITH ITS CORRESPONDING TIME CODES)
• TRAILERS AND PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL

If available, you are very welcome to send press dossiers, brochures, photos and posters in order to provide information to the press and promote the film to the audience. 

¿Tengo otro material vinculado a la temática cuyo año de producción no es tan actual, puedo enviarlo también?

CineMigrante además de ser un Festival Internacional es un espacio de formación en Derechos Humanos a través del lenguaje audiovisual. En este sentido, todos los materiales recibidos pasan a ser parte de una mediateca que se encuentra a disposición de comunidades migrantes, organismos e instituciones que aborden la problemática, con fines educativos y de difusión de derechos humanos de las personas migrantes. La recepción de títulos para incorporarse a la mediateca está abierta todo el año. Se reciben materiales vinculados a la temática independientemente de su año de producción.  

I have other material which deals with the festivals’s topics, but it was not recently produced – can I still submit it?

CineMigrante is not only a film festival, but also promotes the formation of human rights through audiovisual arts. In this regard, all received materials become part of a media library, which is made available to migrant communities, organizations and institutions which address this issue for educational purpose and to raise conciousness of human rights of immigrants. You are invited to send material for this media library all year, regardless of the year of production.
